- Peony - Decorator Form and Function
-
At
Home
-
- Peonies are a majestic flower, when massed in
arrangements featuring just one variety of the flower.
- Float a single blossom in a decorative bowl for an
unusual centerpiece.
- Other classic flowers that can be joined with peonies
include: Roses, Oriental Lilies, Lisianthus, Tulips, Hydrangea, and
Snapdragons.
- When cutting peonies from the garden, be sure you rinse
them with water to flush out the ants that help them open.
- Peonies "shatter" beautifully when fully
mature. Their petals are delicate decorations for an early summer table
-
- Flower Care
-
- Buy cut peonies in bud stage for maximum vase life.
- The end-user life span of the blooms is 7-10 days,
depending on the cultivars.
- Replace water in vase every 3-4 days to avoid stem
clogging.
- Remove any foliage below water line.
